Just a few hours ago I mentioned that I would like to have an active account on the Sproutbuilder service beta. As it turns out, I received an invite email from them just minutes after I posted!

First widget built

This is a rough go at my first design, but it is great to be able to put together a simple widget for cross-promotion of my upcoming album. This widget plays three “demo” tracks of songs that will be included. It also offers a feed of my “Music Stuff” category from this blog.

I’m eagerly awaiting an invite to use the Sprout widget building service. It’s in a closed beta right now. I can say as a musician the tremendous application and use of this service is energizing.

Cool Ben Harper widget

In the meantime, I’m enjoying some time exploring some of the widgets that they are sharing at their gallery page. Here’s one for Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. I really dig the music player (and quite enjoy these new tracks by Ben, as well)!
