Collaboration across continents
Recently, many Second Life musicians collaborated in a project to build awareness to music in the virtual world. Djai Skjellerup penned a song called “Get It Together.” With the engineering and production magicianship of Toby Lancaster, the song came together with the talents of the many musicians participating.
The launch
On Saturday, 22 March 2008, the song was revealed to a very full Nitida Ridge sim in Second Life. The crowd was extremely appreciative (and somewhat overwhelmed?) by the scope of the project. The launch of the song followed a full day of performances by many of the collaborators and other active Second Life musicians.

Hey Rich! This little “widget” is wonderful. Gives links to each of the collaborators. The finished GiT track is amazing too. I was bowled over when I heard it earlier.
Thanks brother!!
WOOHOOOOO Thank you Rich!!! and honoured to see one of my piccies being used! WOW
I missed the premiere (I hate it when RL does that), so this widget was my first chance to hear the song. I listened with a big smile, picking out the various voices. “And that’s… and that’s….” Thanks for creating the widget so people can hear it!
The debut of the song at Nitida Ridge was a blast, and I’d have to say the highlight of the track is Rich’s tambourine part.
Great hearing all my friends’ voices together.
Ha, Zak, that’s killin’ me! Don’t ask “how” I played that tambourine, though! (Some are wise to my secrets. Mwahahahaha!)
