Wordpress Wow — This site has some tips, tweaks, suggestions and resources to help you improve or update your Wordpress blog.
Tumblr.com — Rich recently updated his blog using a “goodie” from the Tumblr service. Mark Forman suggested that Rich try the “Bookmarklet” to capture sites and places that he has been reading. These are collected in the Tumblr log and shared with others that subscribe to it or visit Rich’s Tumblr site. To enhance this service, embed the script provided by Tumblr to your widget text blog in Wordpress. You can now feed the sites that you’ve captured with your bookmarklet to the sidebar of your main blog. Rich is using it as a “read list.”

Rich shares an update about FreeScreencast.com. Jason Askew contacted Rich to help him correct some of the problems that he was having with the application. Don’t forget to download/update the Windows Media Encoder and be sure that you have Microsoft .NET framework in place.
There is a small bug that is being worked on for the next release of the Screencast recorder. When there are multiple monitors, the application will record the blank space of the second monitor, regardless of the chosen recording area. A quick fix is to unplug the monitor, reboot the machine and record using only one monitor installed.

Rich talks about two services that might be useful for your blog needs.
FreeScreenCast — Rich tried this one. He installed it as directed and is able to bring up the software fine. However, when it comes time to record the software stops functioning and an error message is delivered. The potential for this service is great. There are many good instructional and informational videos featured on their site. Give it a try and let Rich know about your experiences!
Triggit.com — Rich has tried this service. He likes the fact that he can place media such as photos and videos into his blog. He can also place ads into text within his blog. This is useful for affiliate ad links. However, he’s not be very successful at getting the application to find the embed codes at Amazon.com.
