Internet radio stations all across the United States are quiet today as they make their statement against recent acts of Congress. Even Yahoo’s LAUNCHcast (one of the largest free streaming services) has joined the campaign.

What can you do about it? Write your senator or congressman to ask the to sponsor Internet Radio Equality Act, S. 1353 in the Senate and H.R. 2060 in the House.

I personally have mixed emotions about what a day of silence will actually do. I suppose a statement is a statement. But, if you are truly concerned, click that link above to write your lawmakers.

Oh, by the way, AOL and Clear Channel have maintained their corporate gluttony and are not participating in the silence effort. If you want to listen, I guess you could go there. But why would you? Seriously, why?
